To All of our Patients,
In March the Governor mandated specific restrictions on elective medical procedures. As these restrictions are being lifted in May we want to share some changes you will experience at the office.
We have used this pause to research the safest possible office environment we can provide. You are used to seeing us in gloves, masks, and PPE as dentistry has practiced Universal Precautions for Blood Borne Pathogens for decades. But in our return to a more normal schedule we are transitioning with new equipment and protocol to also accommodate Precautions for Air Borne Pathogens. You will notice some physical changes such as barriers, new air filtration systems, UVC light disinfecting equipment, aerosol evacuation robots, slightly different protective clothing, and a new scheduling routine. We will also have a pre- appointment phone interview for medical updates and instructions about your appointment the day before you come in.
We are expecting the new equipment to be installed by early June so we are delaying elective restorative and hygiene procedures until we have those things in place. In addition the medical community is about to experience with basic medical supplies what we all did in toilet paper shortage in March. We need those supplies to be available and sustainable as we expand services.
In May we will continue to make special arrangements to evaluate and treat emergencies.
We appreciate your patience and welcome your questions. This page will be updated with evolving information about office procedures and COVID 19 as we learn more. As challenging as this time has been for us all we are excited to problem solve and develop a new way of offering dental care for you.
